Kip

Kip

Kip is a dog that has had a lot of previous obedience training. He is energetic and very motivated and training will be your best bet when building a bond with him. He does not cosy up to just anyone! So, you will need to make an effort to show him how reliable and confident you are. He makes friends with other dogs, but slowly, he likes to take his time when getting to know anyone. I enjoy training with him because he is so enthusiastic! He is a big dog and could use a nice comfy dog bed to curl up on in your bedroom! I would recommend someone who has had dogs before and would be comfortable with a confident boy like Kip. A new dog owner would be good too if you are committed to continued training and expanding his mind!

Kip- Brindle Ridgeback X

May 21- This week we are working on focus exercises, these will help Kip learn to make eye contact with his owner and pay attention to what they are doing. Kip always seems to be hyper aware of what is going on around him and that makes him a little hard to keep focused if there are a lot of distractions. With some regular focus training and trust in his owner he will be able to tune-out many of the distractions!

June 11- Kip is going to stay for awhile with a foster family that also has another SPCA dog. This will give him a break from the kennel life. However Kip is still up for adoption and you can make enquires at the Newtown SPCA.

June 25- Kip didn't work out has his most recent foster because he was uncomfortable being left alone for too long. He is not always the easiest dog to walk, although this could be quickly resolved once he gets to a home. He is pretty tired of being in the kennels and this makes him over excited when he finally gets out! I would love to see Kip as an only dog with a family dedicated to making him feel welcome!
